'The Machines on the Move series is an engaging introduction to construction vehicles for beginning readers. Each book invites young readers to explore the fascinating world of construction in a hands-on way. The series uses leveled text and high-frequency words to ensure that early readers can build confidence while learning about real-world machines in action. Vivid photographs and clear visual references accompany every page, helping students connect text to images and solidify their understanding. Backhoes will excite readers with the vehicle diagram, including the “buckets.” Bulldozers reveals the various job actions that the machine can perform. Readers will enjoy the vivid pictures of the tall machines in Cranes. Diggers also showcases its unique features, such as the arm that extends from the machine to dig up the materials. Dumptrucks shows how the vehicle moves the materials to various locations. One of the most fascinating features of the book Mixers is reading and seeing how the concrete pours out of the machine and the finished product. Special features such as labels, tables of contents, words to know, and an index give emergent readers their first taste of nonfiction reading tools. What sets this series apart is its ability to combine learning with excitement.
