ReviewedFerrets are playful pets that are always on the move. But these cute critters need more than play. They require special care! This engaging text serves as a ferret care primer, with information about ferret personalities, food, games, cages, and more. Special features such as a profile, a supply list, and a care duties checklist offer additional knowledge about ferret care.
'This entry in the A Pet What?! series (6 titles) gives a light but thorough introduction to keeping a pet ferret, covering basic information such as physical traits, social habits, and preferred methods of play. The author also outlines the pet-care necessities a potential owner needs to know, offering instructions on feeding, caging, and caring for these unique critters. Pages are limited to a few sentences of text, relying on appealing design to carry readers along. High-res photographs of adorable ferrets are cropped into each spread, set against lime green and hot-pink backgrounds. A checklist of "Ferret Care Duties" usefully organizes the information into a single page, and back matter includes a glossary as well as further reading. Parents beware, this series will help kids make a strong case for adopting their own furry friends.', Ronny Khuri, Booklist
