This high-interest title explores basic facts, attack moves, and secret weapons of both animals. Features such as charts and profiles offer visual representations and allow for comparisons. A final fight scene brings all the information to an action-packed finale in this title for reluctant readers.
'Highly engaging and fast-paced with close-up color photographs on each page, this series provides interesting facts about wild animals and compares them to a competitor. Two of the books feature animals whose range would never overlap and the battle photograph must be computer generated. Helpful nonfiction text features like a diagram showing animal size, habitat, and range, a secret weapons page highlighting the animal’s adaptations, and a learn more page with book recommendations and a Factsurfer web link make this series stand out. The series also has typical text features like bold printed words defined in a glossary, a table of contents and an index. The text features and highly engaging nature of this series would make it useful for elementary school wild animal reports and reluctant readers who enjoy wild animal information.
